Charity Quilting from Becca's Crazy Projects

I made all of these little scrappy bricks blocks using so many scraps!
I used a big stack of 2.5" strips to make this scrappy nine-patch quilt. I think the borders hold it all together.

Random Blocks from Becca's Crazy Projects

I've had these five churn dash blocks hanging around forever. I decided to trim them, add matching borders, and put them into a charity quilt. Some left over blocks and I had something I liked. Now to piece it together and add some borders.
I've been gathering some 3.5" by 6.5" bricks to make a super scrappy quilt. I really like being able to pull a quilt together from a large selection of prints. Expect to see more of these.

Scrappy bricks quilt pieced and quilted by me. Ready for binding. This block is also called the Potato Chip block. Quilted using the design Oil Spill from Longarm LeagueLongarm League.
I had some half-square triangles cut and ready to become a quilt. I carefully laid out the triangles and pieced them into this scrappy wonder. A great way to use up scraps! Both will be heading to Annapolis Quilts for Kids

Charity Quilting from Becca's Crazy Projects

I made this fun, scrappy bricks quilt. I love how each of these is the same and so very different. These are 9.5" by 9.5" blocks made using 2" by 3.5" bricks. That's the smallest scrap I want to deal with.
Simple blocks for the win. I Took inspiration from the border fabrics to choose the squares. Such a fun finish.

Both quilts will be headed to Annapolis Quilts for Kids.

Nine Patches from Becca's Crazy Projects

I had so many blue bricks I decided to try something new. This quilt was made with 2.5" by 4.5" bricks set in nine-patch blocks. Then I added a strip between each block and alternated the rows. I'm really pleased with how this one turned out.

Scrappy Bricks from Becca's Crazy Projects

I've been working on some more scrappy bricks quilts.
These are the perfect project if you have loads of scraps and only a little bit of time to sew. You just sew a couple bricks, or a couple blocks and set it aside. It is also a good one for leaders and enders. both of these are made with 2.5" by 4.5" bricks. I use a 4.5" by 4.5" square as the center of each block. These will both finish around 36" by 36".

Die Cutting the Leftovers from Becca's Crazy Projects

When I trim a charity quilt, I set aside the trimmings in this bin. It is overflowing with scrappy goodness.
I decided to do some sorting by size.
My goal was to cut some of those leftovers into usable pieces. I sorted the scraps into some general sizes. These sizes become binding, borders, and blocks.
Then I sat down with my biggest leftovers, in this case the pieces that could easily be cut into 6.5" squares. These are the easiest to make into a charity quilt quickly. Thirty squares sewn in five rows of six squares and you almost ...

Scrappy Bricks from Becca's Crazy Projects

I've been piecing more of these scrappy bricks blocks.
They come together easily and make a pretty fun little quilt.
The block center squares and the borders give each quilt its own flavor.
